HiFive Turns Former Retail Site Into Wide-Open Worship Center
Shopaholics have long been accused of worshiping at the retail altar. But these days, there’s real, honest-to-God worshiping going on in retail sites — or at least in former retail sites.
Modern churches determined to make themselves visible and accessible to younger generations are popping up in storefronts and former big-box spaces. One church even made its home recently in a former multiplex cinema off Interstate 275 in Milford, celebrating its first services in the retrofitted building two weekends ago.
“We definitely don’t want to look like a typical church,” said Bryce Davis, a pastor at Eastside Christian Church.
