HiFive Builds Skidmore Expansion

Skidmore Sales & Distributing and HiFive Development Services are working together on an expansion of the Skidmore office and distribution center in West Chester.

Skidmore Sales & Distributing is expanding their 150,000sf home office and main distribution center in West Chester, anticipating future business growth and to better meet customer needs. The expansion includes 56,000sf of additional storage and warehouse space, as well as adding 10 fast access docks to complement the 24 they currently have.

A company with roots in Cincinnati since 1963, Skidmore Sales & Distributing has become a leading supplier of quality ingredients to food processors and manufacturers. They are headquartered in West Chester, with 12 warehouses across the Midwest and sales coverage in 18 states. While the expansion will expand their storage capacity, it will also include unique storage solutions for new products as Skidmore continues to strive to meet customer needs. On this project, Skidmore capitalized on the current favorable market conditions for construction – conditions which offer advantages not available a few years ago.

The current expansion project began in November, 2009, with a completion date of June, 2010. Skidmore has partnered with HiFive Development Services, locally headquartered in Mason. HiFive is currently providing complete design-build services for the project.

“We are excited to be working with another local company,” says John Moses, COO of HiFive Development Services. “We really feel like we are helping to build the community in a positive way.”

Founded in 2001, HiFive Development Service seeks to provide the best design and construction solutions to their clients.
