River Hills Christian Church

About This Project

River Hills Christian Church (RHCC), for whom “flexibility is a core value,” had worshiped in banquet halls, a high school, and ultimately merged with Branch Hill Church of Christ. Hamstrung by inadequate facilities, its growth had ceased… its vision, however, did not.

The design response from church designer HiFive was a “post-modern barn” set into a hillside overlooking a newly constructed lake. The new, nationally recognized, master-planned 33,000sf facility has enabled River Hills Christian Church to grow from less than 400 to more than 1,000 members in less than 3 years.

The Baptistry is a 3-story rock waterfall feature located in the lobby. Children arrive for Sunday School by sliding down a slide after checking in at the computer kiosk. There are two coffee service areas in the auditorium, as well as a 36′ wide movie screen.
